The 2005 Cuatro Rayas Verdejo (100% varietal from vines over 25 years of age) is stainless steel fermented using native yeasts and periodic lees stirring for 3 months. It exhibits herbal and fresh citrus notes along with lemon zest and melon nuances. It should be drunk over the next 12-18 months.
Agricola Castellana, an estate founded in 1935, approaches viticulture and winemaking with an eye on quality. They own more ungrafted old vines than the rest of the Rueda D.O. combined of which 40% are untrellised bush vines.
