Voerzio's 1987 Barolo-La Serra is one of the best I have tasted from the vintage. It is much more developed and softer than most five year old Barolos, but copious levels of fruit are present, as well as the classic aromas of tar, roses, and sweet red fruit. On the palate, this seductive wine is generous, round, full-bodied, and supple. Fully mature and unlikely to improve, this wine should be drunk over the next 4-5 years. It has been a number of years since I have tasted this producer's wines, but I was immensely impressed with his current offerings. Importer: Viva Vino Imports, Eddystone, PA.
