Donna Olga's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is an opulent and rich wine that is endowed with thick extraction, sweet fruit flavors and a dark color. The wine's appearance is characterized by its inky, black richness. Despite its recent commercial release, this wine already shows evolved notes of tar, licorice and dark cola that make it feel a bit older than it really is. Some Brunellos tend to evolve very quickly just out of the gate and if that proves to be the case here, this wine may not age as long. To be on the safe side, I have suggested a slightly shorter drinking window.
