Donna Olga’s 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva reveals an attractive inner core of dark cherry fruit along with suggestions of earthiness, smoke and toasted oak. Made in a somewhat chunky, rustic, but pleasant style, this medium to full-bodied Brunello will benefit from additional bottle age which should help smooth out the tannins.
