Bruno Giacosa now owns a parcel of the renowned Asili vineyard in Barbaresco, from which he has fashioned a gorgeously elegant 1995 Barbaresco Bricco Asili. The color is a deceptively light ruby with some amber at the edge. The nose offers aromas redolent of kirsch, dried Provencal herbs, new saddle leather, and smoke. In the mouth, Asian spice and soy make an appearance in the rich, jammy cherry flavors that also offer an intriguing tomato-like characteristic. This lush, open-knit, full-bodied Barbaresco will drink well between 2001-2014. A Leonardo Lo Cascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel. (201) 445-0620
