The 2017 Chianti Classico is a tad too ripe for my tastes. You taste the heat of the vintage in those aromas of blackberry preserves and strawberry jam. Background notes of apricot and candied orange peel add to that characteristic hot vintage bouquet. I would suggest a near-term drinking window as a result.

Almond and chestnut notes accent the cherry flavors in this broad, tannic red. Features ample fruit, while a sweetness returns at the end, suggesting that this will achieve equilibrium with time. Leather, earth and iron elements add depth. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
