The 2010 III A.C. a blend of 94%Tempranillo, 3% Graciano and 3% Mazuelo aged for fifteen months in French oak barrels seems to be an ambitious wine, because of the minimalist label and the big price tag. The wine is dark and extremely aromatic, with notes of violets, spices, some smoky overtones and very ripe fruit. The medium-bodied palate is equally perfumed, with fine-grained tannins, good acidity and length. Quite showy. Drink 2014-2018.
Bodegas Beronia's main shareholder since 1982 is Gonzalez-Byass from Jerez. They produce five million bottles per year, which are widely available, since they export to over 100 countries. The wines are very good, if a little predictable.
