Spicy peaches and apricots burst forth from the 2000 Tokay-Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos St.-Theobald. Boasting 14.1% alcohol and 54 grams of residual sugar, this massive, layered wine reveals a deep, full-bodied character. Jammy yellow fruits, Indian spices, and papayas can be found in its immensely concentrated core. Incidentally, Annalise Weygandt, the estate's US importer's daughter, participated in this wine's harvest. Having clambered on the extremely steep slopes of this rocky vineyard, I can only imagine the hell she must have endured. Drink this stunning wine between 2006 and 2017.
