The 2009 ARGILOS “SOUTHERN SLOPES” is a Nemea, i.e., Agiorgitiko. Softly textured and modestly concentrated, with an oaky overlay, it seems gentle and calm on opening, but it actually has some significant bursts of tannins and acidity lurking underneath. This is pleasing and tasty, mingling red fruit notes, a slight tartness and sweet oak, while having enough structure to be interesting. Give this 6-12 months to settle down. Drink now-2016.
