This is Veramonte’s inaugural Pinot under the Ritual label, and it has a warm, meaty, leathery quality to it. The palate has thickness and beef, while the flavors run creamy, rich and sweet. Finishes with a slick of oaky butter and woodspice. Good for Chilean Pinot, but needs some fine tuning in future years. ——M.S.(7/1/2010)—— 87
