The more limited cuvee, the 2007 Gigondas Terrasses des Dentelles, exhibits super precision, a terrific minerality that comes through the lavish amounts of black raspberry, blueberry, and spring flower characteristics, superb ripeness, a saturated ruby/purple color, full-bodied power, and admirable elegance, purity, and acidity. Consume it over the next 10-15 years. Font-Sane owns a total of 38 acres in Gigondas, with vines averaging 50 years of age. The blend of around 70% Grenache, 20-25% Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre and Cinsault, aged in large wood foudres prior to bottling, is typical for most wines of this appellation. Ripe, warm, fleshy plum nose. Spicy, ripe sweet plum fruit. Well balanced. An all-round top glass of wine.
