The 2015 Pommard 1er Cru les Croix Noires was perhaps the one cuvée that seemed to translate as much of the warm growing season as it does the terroir, hints of fig and date tincturing the otherwise attractive dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, ripe, supple tannin. This will be a relatively rich and opulent Pommard, although undeniably it is balanced on the finish with ample freshness and offers a lovely blood orange aftertaste.
