The 1990 Quintessence is less charming but more massive, fuller-bodied, and fleshier than the 1992 Cuvee des Terrasses. A more concentrated and ambitious wine, with impressive components, it displays full body, plenty of extract, wonderful juicy, peppery, cassis, and black-cherry fruit, and a long, lush, heady finish. One of the most concentrated wines I have tasted from the Cotes de Ventoux, it should drink well for 7-8 years. This is a noteworthy wine from southern France's beautiful Cotes de Ventoux.
