Tasted as an unfinished wine, the 2013 Bolgheri Superiore Atis opens to a brooding dark color with thick saturation and richness. The wine is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The bouquet offers a few surprises mainly thanks to the floral nature of its offerings. You'll get pressed rose potpourri and lavender at the far back. The remainder of the nose is characterized by dark fruit and spice. There is a note of sour cherry on the close.

This is ripe and saturated, with black cherry, black currant, earth, stone and iron flavors. Stiff, dry tannins lend support. The finish is long, leaving a mineral impression.
