The Romanee St.-Vivant offers more complexity in the nose and the same degree of ripeness and richness on the palate as the Les Suchots.
I think admirers of Robert Arnoux's wines will find his 1987s to be good to very good, and only a notch below the quality of his excellent 1985s.They are vastly superior to his somewhat fragile, light, overcropped 1986s. All his 1987s share in common a suppleness, velvety texture, and forward, ripe, precocious personality. There is not a wine in his stable that I would not consume between now and 1994-1995.
