The 2015 Chateau Le Prieuré is more understated on the nose than its peers - gentle raspberry coulis and wild strawberry scents furnished a touch of fig. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin. There is a lucidity to this Saint émilion, a brightness and vivacity, and it comes armed with plenty of energy and a finish that suggests a prosperous future. This is an excellent Chateau Le Prieuré from the Guichard family and I might head for this rather than their Pomerol, Vray Croix de Gay this year.
