The purple-colored 2007 Syrah Lewis Vineyard displays an aromatic array of wood smoke, game, meat, pepper, and blueberry. This is the artist label Syrah; impenetrably black, richly scented and intriguing. The fruit is tart and has a citrus edge, but more noticeable are the scents and textures of spices—clove, pepper, cayenne, a bit of fennel and ginger.
