The deep ruby-hued 2002 Proprietary Red, a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Sangiovese, and 15% Petite Sirah, reveals a sweet perfume of white chocolate, kirsch, licorice, earth, and dried herbs. There is an elegant attack as well as medium-bodied, concentrated flavors, but an angular, austere, tannic finish kept my score from going even higher.
