The last two wines, Melba Lucia and Melba Mimi, are a fairly new project to produce “l(fā)ight, food-friendly styles of Cabernet.” The 2007 Melba Mimi is blended of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah and 7% Nebbiolo. Aromas of dried plums and cassis with some earth, a bit of espresso, tea leaves and roses lead to a palate of crisp acid and a medium to firm level of fine tannins. Medium-bodied, this wine has a satisfyingly long finish. Enjoy now or cellar it for up to 8 years.Windy Peak is the name of De Bortoli’s entry level Victoria range, often offering solid, well-made wines of impressive volumes at very good value.Importer: De Bortoli Wines USA Inc.; tel. + 1 201 714 9700; www.debortoli.com.au
