From vines nearly 100 years old, the black/purple-colored Pommard Charmots reveals super-sweet black fruit aromas infused with violets, roses, and Asian spices. This fabulously ripe and extraordinarily layered wine is full-bodied, creamy-textured, seductive, and oh, so hedonistic! Intense waves of jammy (yet focused) blueberries, cherries, and raspberries overpower the senses in this formidably long wine. If this sensual Pommard takes on additional complexity, my score will appear conservative. Projected maturity: 1999-2006.
