In 1995, Dominique Laurent crafted three reference point Pommards. Produced from vines that are almost 100 years old, the medium-to-dark ruby-colored Pommard Charmots displays gorgeous and elegant aromas of raspberries, crisp cherries and touches of mocha. This superbly concentrated wine has complex, powerful and extracted flavors of blackberries, red currants, Asian spices, coffee and herbs in its oily-textured, full-bodied and exquisite character. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2009. As always, ratings with a score in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle.
