Here's a wine that shows lots of stuffing and a very rich texture that is shaped by a warm and sunny vintage. The 2015 Montefalco Rosso Riserva reminds me of a thick cut of a velvety fabric or soft suede, especially in terms of mouthfeel. The tannins are quite smooth, and that's a feat that takes time with any blend involving the Sagrantino grape. This Riserva ends with extracted black fruit, spice, smoke and mild tertiary definition.
