The 2021 Pinot Noir Home Block is Lowburn Ferry's top-of-the-shop cuvée with incredible intensity and creamy richness of ripe cherry, blueberry and blackberry fruit. This is an all-singing, all-dancing, no expense spared Pinot Noir. It's an impressive mouthful, although done in a less is more style, particularly in relation to the high alcohol (14.5%), which wouldn't be unwelcome as it does leave a trace of heat. The wine contains an abundance of tannins in the context of Pinot Noir, which lightly coats the entire palate on the long, sinewy finish, which is helped along by a tug of acidity. The concentrated fruit envelops the sweet and spicy French oak. This has the substance and structure to age well.
