Deep violet. Smoke-accented cherry and cassis aromas are complemented by suggestions of candied licorice, vanilla and cracked pepper. Chewy and broad on entry and then more taut in the midpalate, offering concentrated dark fruit liqueur, mocha and spicecake flavors and a hint of violet pastille. Closes on a sweet black currant note, showing very impressive persistence and building tannins.
