You can't beat the color intensity of the Tenute Silvio Nardi 2012 Brunello di Montalcino. This wine flaunts a deep ruby color that is both luminous and saturated. The bouquet reveals a vinous character with raw cherry, blackberry, spice, blanched almond, medicinal herb and even a touch of dried apple skin. This wine is pleasantly soft and luscious in terms of mouthfeel with more richer textural richness than most base Brunellos from this vintage. It closes with a subtle touch of fruity bitterness that becomes difficult to shake off. My hope is that it will relax with more bottle aging.
