The 2017 Alto Adige Stoan is a lasting and sophisticated white wine with enduring layers of ripe fruit, peach and pear. This oak-aged blend of Chardonnay (65%), Sauvignon Blanc (20%), Pinot Bianco (10%) and Gewürztraminer (5%) shows a slightly heavier center of gravity in this hot year. I'm suggesting a shorter drinking window compared to the previous vintage. Pair it with a chicken breast and mushroom dish. Some 52,000 bottles were produced.

Hints of fresh basil and tarragon waft from the glass of this svelte, medium-bodied white, with rich flavors of green melon, pineapple and stony mineral enlivened by mouthwatering acidity and accents of pink grapefruit zest and grated ginger.
