What a pretty nose on the Gevrey-Chambertin – well-defined with perfumed fresh strawberries and red currants with an underlying mineralite. Is this really just Villages! The palate is medium-bodied with a light peppery opening, fleshy and quite spicy red fruit and an exuberant finish more like a 2009 Gevrey. This is a well-crafted Gevry. Tasted May 2013.
