The Salcheto 2012 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is a little thinner and more precise compared to the previous vintage. The wine opens to mid-weight consistency and displays pretty aromas of wild berry, cassis and dried cherry. The 2012 vintage is steady and well assembled, although the high notes are more muted. However, you can count on the bouquet to deliver authentic and true Sangiovese aromas. There are pretty notes of balsam or medicinal herb on the close.

Dark notes of blackberry and plum are reinforced by molasses and licorice flavors. Dense and meaty, this red is surprisingly nimble given the power and concentration.
