The 2010 Winemakers’ Reserve Syrah is 100% Syrah from single Irongate vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels region and was aged in French oak, 20% new, for 10 months. Medium-deep garnet-purple colored, it has aromas of blackberries and black plums with hints of underbrush and freshly cracked black pepper. Light to medium bodied, it offers straightforward, peppered berry flavors in the mouth with a low to medium level of rounded tannins, crisp acid and a long finish with a just a touch of astringency.
