Roar is always a big wine, showing the power of Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, and the 2007 is their best ever. It’s gigantic in ripe cherry, currant, gingersnap cookie and spicy flavors, but entirely dry. Despite the evident tannins, it never loses a silky elegance. Drink now through 2013 before it loses freshness.——S.H.(6/1/2009)—— 90
