Tasted out of bottle, the youthful, inky-colored 2013 Gigondas la Combe des Marchands (80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre) has lots of currant and blackberry fruits, caramelized cherry, licorice and chocolatey notes in the fruit forward, charming, easy drinking style that’s the hallmark of this estate. Drink it on release and over the coming 4-5 years.
