El Pecado was the first wine Pérez produced from Ribeira Sacra and it made a lot of noise. In the fresh and balanced 2012 vintage it produced an awesome, balanced red, with earthy undertones under a core of blueberries, dry flowers and aromatic herbs, poised and harmonious, sourced from the Capeli?os vineyards from Guímaro planted with very old vines mixed in the vineyards with a dominance of Mencía but with a large number of other Atlantic varieties. The palate is seamless and layered, with very fine tannins, great acidity and a slight bitterness towards the finish, the only hint at it's élevage in barrique. It's sold without the appellation's seal, but it's as Ribeira Sacra as it gets. Bravo!
