A good offering is the 2000 Gigondas Les Espalines, a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvedre which sees approximately 30% new oak. This attractive Gigondas exhibits full-bodied, attractive flavors dominated by black cherry fruit. Although not complex, it will provide a pleasant mouthful of wine over the next decade.
