The 2012 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vigneto Monte Sant'Urbano sees fruit coaxed through a warm and dry growing season. You taste that sunny intensity and fruity ripeness in this blend of 70% Corvina and Corvinone, 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara (with over 100 days of appassimento). Prune, dried blackberry, tar, sweet spice and tobacco emerge from the bouquet with robust intensity. I always think of Amarone as a great pairing partner to Texas barbecue or pulled pork. Some 95,000 bottles were released.
