The 2000 Amarone Campolongo di Torbe reveals a beautifully fragrant open nose, along with earthiness, spices leather and dark fruit, closing with a pretty note of sweetness that carries through to the finish. It gives the impression of a wine that is moving towards its tertiary stage of development. My impression is that the flavors are evolving at a faster rate than the structure is softening.
