Tasting Michel Lafarge's ruby-colored 2000 Bourgogne Pinot Noir brought back fond memories of the cases of this estate's 1990 I had suckled over the years. Loads of red cherries and raspberries are found in this fresh, medium-bodied wine's aromatics. Mouth-staining, intense, and big, it slathers the palate with black cherries. While it may not be complex, it certainly delivers more friendly fruit than what we've come to expect from a regional appellation. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
