A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot, aged in 40-45% new oak, the 1998 J. Daniel Cuvee (1,100 cases) was made by consulting oenologist, Philippe Melka. It exhibits an elegant, Bordeaux-like personality in addition to nicely-textured, cedary, cassis and cherry flavors, medium body, excellent purity, and fine overall harmony. It should drink well for 10-15 years. Most of this wine is sold via a mailing list. Phone 707-965-1300; fax 707-965-1311
