The certified organic 2019 Montefalco Rosso Sallustio is a blend of Sangiovese, Barbera and Sagrantino aged in equal parts barrique and botte grande. Only 6,000 bottles were produced, and fruit comes from a one-hectare site with limestone clay soils. You'll find that the aromas are generous and wide in scope with dried blackberry and cherry confit. The tannins are dry and astringent. Generous tones of spice, cardamom and cinnamon appear on the close. The jammy style is bold, opulent and reminiscent of wines made in the 1990s or early 2000s.
