The 2007 Sauvignon Winkl presents extroverted varietal aromatics, with mint, sage, smoke and tomato leaf all making an appearance. On the palate this is a lean, focused wine, yet it offers excellent length and lovely balance. This remains a wine for tasters who appreciate a greener style of Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010. Cantina di Terlano is a reference-point producer for fine wines in Alto Adige. This cooperative’s entry-level bottlings are reviewed in Issue 178.
