The 2009 Soave Classico Vigneto Du Lot reveals a deep, honey-tinged hue. Orange peel, dried flowers, honey, French oak and dried apricots meld together in this big, sumptuous Soave. The Du Lot is all about power, depth and ripeness, all of which it has in abundance. I find the style on the overly heavy side and with little varietal character, but readers who like rich, super-oaked whites may enjoy this more. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.
