A smaller production release that’s aged 12 months in once-used demi-muid, the 2012 Crozes Hermitage le Rouvre is a smoking, full-bodied effort that has stunning purity of fruit, a stacked mid-palate and a layered, seamless texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. Giving up plenty of licorice, graphite, crushed rock and cassis and blackcurrant-like fruit, it should drink nicely through 2022.
