From a somewhat overlooked vintage, the 1993 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles cannot quite rival the brilliant 1992 (there are some 1993s that can today), but it is a lovely wine. Exhibiting aromas of tangerine oil, crisp orchard fruit, honeycomb, vanilla pod and oatmeal, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, its fleshy core of fruit animated by a tangy spine of acidity, concluding with a long, beeswax-inflected finish.
