I have enjoyed the wines of Pierre Gaillard from cask, but I rarely have a chance to taste them from bottle. These two sleek and compact 1990s reveal impressive, saturated, deep ruby/purple colors. The 1990 St.-Joseph-Clos de Cuminaille possesses a closed nose and a chunky, monolithic personality. While there is good fruit, there is also noticeable hard tannin in the finish. It should keep for 7-8 years. A Peter Vezan Selection - various importers.
