The 2006 Chianti Classico is a far more affordable introduction to the wines of this venerable property. This powerhouse emerges from the glass with layers of dark fruit, spices, leather, plums and tobacco that completely saturate the palate. There is an incredible combination of richness allied to bright, piercing Sangiovese acidity. The 2006 will require patience, but is unquestionably a gem. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026.
