The 2015 Criots-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru is striking, and it's the most aromatically extravagant of d'Auvenay's three white grands crus, bursting from the glass with aromas of apricots, fresh peach, honeycomb, pastry cream and sweet spring flowers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, limpid and expansive, with a lavishly textural attack, incredible depth and purity and a long, saline finish. This is a sapid, gourmand white Burgundy that's qualitatively similar to the domaine's Batard-Montrachet but rather more open and immediate.
