The 2008 Pinot Noir Evelyn’s is a barrel selection. Medium ruby in color, it proffers a splendid nose of Asian spices, herbs, floral notes, and savory red fruits. Complex, dense, and rich, it has the most stuffing of the Brick House wines and possibly the greatest length. It, too, will drink easily for a decade or more. Congratulations to Doug Tunnell for an extraordinary collection of wines. Doug Tunnell is completing his 20th year farming in Willamette Valley. The 2008 Pinot Noir Evelyn's was offered by Doug Tunnell following a tasting of his 2012s in January 2015. It has a very refined bouquet, very pure and transparent with small red cherries mixed with bergamot and cold tea scents. The palate is very well balanced with fine acidity. There is a leafiness present here that renders it quite natural in the mouth. It is not an intense Pinot Noir, but possesses lilting charm that carries it through. Enjoy this now or cellar for a couple more years since it has the substance to last.
