The 2004 Cote Rotie has a deep plum/ruby color and a sweet nose of smoke, flowers, black currants, olives, and herbs. It is elegant, medium-weight, with unobtrusive acidity and ripe tannin, a good sign. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Bonnefond has emerged as one of the finest producers of Cote Rotie with a strong showing in nearly every vintage except for the poorer years like 2002. Even in 2004 his wines have more charm, fruit, and complexity than those of most of his peers.Importer: A Christopher Cannan Selection, various American importers including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel.
