Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2009 Waitaki Pinot Noir has lovely red cherry and raspberry aromas with some mulberries and a floral/lavender undercurrent. Medium bodied with grainy tannins and lively acidity, it has just enough fruit to flesh the structure, finishing long and spicy. Drinking now, it should keep through 2015+.
