The 2000 Barolo Cannubi, which has finally shed the excessive oakiness of past vintages, features resin, chocolate, roses, and spice in its gamut of aromas, long and velvety flavors, and very good density and depth. Einaudi is a name to reckon with in Italy – Luigi Einaudi, whose family still owns these vineyards, was a widely esteemed economist and one of the first presidents of Italy in the post-war period.
