The 2012 Syrah Rodney's Vineyard was my pick of this mini vertical, wafting from the glass with notes of crushed cassis, smoky red and black berries, grilled meat and asphalt. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and savory, with a nice core of vibrant fruit, melting tannins and a seamless, even elegant profile as it ages.
